Scotch Pine Essential Oil can be used to treat painful conditions like arthritis, gout and neuralgia; it can help with urinary tract infections, blood circulation, asthma and bronchitis.
Pine Oil can heal cuts and scrapes, a cough or a sore throat; it freshens indoor environments and opens your airways so you can breathe easier; it even eliminates toxins in the body and relieves fatigue and nervous exhaustion.

Let's start with some basic information; a brief description of where the oil comes from, what it contains and how it is obtained. The following information is provided by Bill Fifield in his book "Integrated Guide to Essential Oils & Aromatherapy".

Family: Pinaceae
Origins: Native of Eurasia but cultivated throughout the eastern United States, Europe, and Russia.
Other Names: Scotch pine, forest pine, scots pine, Norway pine, and pine needle (oil)
Description: A tall evergreen with a flat crown. It has long stiff needles that grow in pairs and cones.
Extraction: Essential oil by dry distillation
Botanical Part Used: needles
Principal Constituents: 50 - 90% monoterpene hydrocarbons: pinenes, careen, dipentene, limonene, terpinenes, myrcene, and others.

Pine Essential Oil can be used for treating arthritis including gout. It is also good for poor circulation and aching muscles.
It can be used in a 50:50 blend with fractionated coconut oil or aloe and coconut. Massage the painful area daily or whenever needed.

If you suffer from asthma or bronchitis pine essential oil can be applied either topically or aromatically.
Put 20 drops in a diffuser or humidifier and use once or twice daily.
Add 10-15 drops in a cup of Epsom Salts in a hot bath before going to bed.
Add a couple drops to a steaming pot of water and inhale deeply. Put a towel over your head and blow into the steam periodically to increase the concentration. Repeat if needed.
While your skin is still damp after a shower you can put a couple drops directly on your neck and chest. Use a blow-dryer to cause quicker absorption if needed.

Create a 50:50 mixture of pine essential oil and fractionated coconut and massage it into your extremities in the direction of your heart. This will help to improve your blood circulation.

If you have ever walked through a pine forest after a fresh rain you know what I mean when I say that diffusing Pine Essential Oil in your home or office does wonders to purify and freshen your indoor environment.

Pine Essential Oil can be used to heal cuts and scrapes as well as small sores. Apply undiluted if the treatment area is small but mix with fractionated coconut for larger applications.

First mix the oil in a 50:50 blend with a carrier oil and then massage it over your abdomen. A blow-dryer or a hot, damp compress will help absorb the oil quicker.
The above mixture can also be consumed using a gelatin capsule, 3 times a day with food.
Other Oils for Infection
A massage using Pine Essential Oil can be done for regular pain such as arthritis and sore muscles but it is also effective for nerve pain or neuralgia.
Treatment remains the same in either case and application depends on the size of the area treated. For smaller areas the oil can be applied directly but for larger areas a 50:50 dilution with carrier oil is recommended. My favorite carrier is of course fractionated coconut oil.
