Family: Asteraceae (Compositae)
Origins: A native to Europe and Northwest Asia. Also grown in North America and Australia. Most of the production today comes from Hungary and Eastern Europe.
Other Names: German chamomile, pineapple weed, maroc chamomile
Description: An annual aromatic plant with small, delicate, daisy-like flowers. Fruity, herbal, warm sweet
Extraction: Essential oil by steam distillation. The oil is dark blue in color.
Botanical Part Used: Flowers
Principal Constituents: Chamazulene, farnesene, bisabolol oxide, and others

Most people prefer the smell of Roman Chamomile Essential Oil but German Chamomile does have a beautiful sweet herbal chamomile aroma as well.
If you are looking for a strong anti-inflammatory oil, your best bet would be to go with German Chamomile,

If great emotional applications are what you want, you should choose Roman Chamomile.
In either case, both oils have wonderful attributes and I suggest you look at them all before you make your final choice.

If you are suffering from a yeast fungus in the vaginal area try having a daily sitz bath until the condition improves. Add one drop of German Chamomile and 2 drops of Tea Tree Oil in a gallon of warm water. This should help with the itching.
For infections in your mouth or throat try licking a drop off the back of your hand and mixing it with saliva to slowly deliver it to the area of concern.
This also works well in cases of strep throat and other fungal infections.
