Eucalyptus Globulus, also known as Blue Gum Oil, is native to Australia but has been cultivated in California, Russia, Spain, Brazil, Portugal and China.
People would roll up the dried eucalyptus leaves and smoke them like a cigarette as a remedy for respiratory illnesses like bronchitis and coup. It has been used to treat fevers like malaria and typhoid as well as for skin irritations like burns and wounds.
Lately it has been commercialized for use in liniments, inhalants, ointments, toothpaste and cough syrups. It's also been used in soaps and toiletries and as food flavoring.
